Basketball Game Preview: Newport Cubs vs. Junction City Tigers

The Newport Cubs will head out to take on the Junction City Tigers on Friday. Newport will be strutting in after a win while Junction City will be coming in after a loss.

On Wednesday, everything went Newport's way against Elmira as Newport made off with a 67-46 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cubs.

Meanwhile, Junction City didn't have quite enough to beat Philomath on Saturday and fell 43-41.

Junction City's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 0-2. As for Newport, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Newport couldn't quite finish off Junction City when the teams last played back in December of 2023 and fell 46-44. Can Newport avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
