Football Game Preview: Harmony School of Innovation Wildcats vs. Columbia Roughnecks

The Harmony School of Innovation Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Columbia Roughnecks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Harmony School of Innovation's offense has struggled lately (they haven't scored a point in three consecutive games), something the team is no doubt ready to change.

Harmony School of Innovation is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Sweeny on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Wildcats were dealt a 71-0 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs.

Meanwhile, the third road contest was the charm for Columbia, as they earned their first away win of the season. They secured a 42-36 W over Wharton on Friday. The Roughnecks haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Columbia's win came from a few key players Harmony School of Innovation will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Mudassir Abdullah, who picked up 88 receiving yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 63 yards and one score. Those 88 receiving yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cade Thoe, who threw for 184 yards and four touchdowns.

Columbia didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Wharton to a completion percentage of just 50%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from four players: Abdullah, Logan Lewis, Brayden Polk, and Xavier Boozy, who each logged one passes deflected. Columbia wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 68.2%.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Harmony School of Innovation, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Harmony School of Innovation took a serious blow against Columbia when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 56-0. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
