Volleyball Recap: Oswego East Gets the Win

Oswego East posted their closest win since April 27, 2024 on Saturday. They won by a set and slipped past the Joliet Catholic Hilltoppers 2-1. For the Wolves, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 victory the Hilltoppers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2023.

If you add up the scores from across all three sets (63-55) Oswego East actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 13-25, 15-13.

Their offense was headlined by Xander Horst and Tyler Vlcek, who picked up 12 kills apiece. They got some help from Max Coleman and his 28 assists.

The win made it two in a row for Oswego East and bumps their season record up to 2-2. As for Joliet Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 2-2.

Oswego East has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Lane Tech on the 29th. As for Joliet Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Joliet Central on the 29th.
