Football Recap: Shamil Saadiq's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lugoff-Elgin over West Florence

Lugoff-Elgin lost against West Florence back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Demons took a hard 28-13 fall against the Knights. The match marked the Demons' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Lugoff-Elgin's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shamil Saadiq, who picked up 145 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Lugoff-Elgin's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for West Florence, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-3.

Coincidentally, Lugoff-Elgin and West Florence will both be playing Sumter the next time they take the field. The Demons will host the Gamecocks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Knights will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on October 3.
