Softball Recap: Gulf Shores Has No Trouble Against Pell City

Gulf Shores's tournament run continued when they took on Pell City on Saturday. The Gulf Shores Dolphins blew past the Pell City Panthers 9-2.

Anna Leigh Price was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Price was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Anayia McCutchen, who went a perfect3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. What's more, she also posted three hits, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kayleigh Jacks, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Gulf Shores was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pell City only posted a batting average of .133.

Gulf Shores now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Pell City, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 2-1.

Coming up, Gulf Shores is headed away from home for the first time to take on Fort Walton Beach at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Pell City, they will face off against Helena at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Helena will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Pell City surely won't give up without a fight.
