Softball Recap: Southern School of Energy and Sustainability Takes a Loss

Vance County hit Southern School of Energy and Sustainability with a five-run fourth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Spartans fell just short of the Vipers by a score of 8-7. The Spartans have struggled against the Vipers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Natalynn Snipes-Draine was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Anaya Burke, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Southern School of Energy and Sustainability's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Vance County, they moved to 2-9 with that win, which also ended their eight-game losing streak.
