Football Recap: Belleville West Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against Alton last Friday, Belleville West came back down to earth. The Maroons fell 27-14 to the Belleville East Lancers on Friday. The Maroons have struggled against the Lancers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Kayden Wood was his usual excellent self, throwing for 246 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 46 yards and a pair of TDs for Belleville East. What's more, Wood racked up 123.4 passer rating, the most he's had since back in August. A healthy portion of Wood's aerial production (151 yards to be exact) went to CJ Willis, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Belleville West's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Belleville East, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coming up, Belleville West will head out to square off against Vianney at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Belleville East, they will challenge Capital City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
