Basketball Recap: Salmon Takes a Loss

Salmon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were dealt a 64-24 loss at the hands of the Ririe Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, with their most recent defeat being a 69-19 loss last Tuesday.

When it comes to explaining why Salmon lost, don't look at Kyla James. Despite the final result, she went 5-for-8 on her way to 13 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance also gave James a new career-high in field goal percentage (63%).

Salmon's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Ririe, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-9.

Salmon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 42-14 loss against North Fremont on the 5th. As for Ririe, they have also already played their next contest, a 47-26 victory against Firth on the 7th.
