Basketball Recap: Johnson Takes a Loss

Johnson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 53-50 heartbreaker at the hands of the Islands Sharks. The Atomsmashers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Sharks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2020.

Johnson's loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Islands, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 6-12.

Johnson has already played their next match (against Beach), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Islands will head out to square off against Calvary Day at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th.
