Basketball Game Preview: Tell City Marksmen vs. Paoli Rams

Tell City hasn't had much luck against Paoli recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Tell City Marksmen will head out to face off against the Paoli Rams at 6:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Tell City is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They really took it to Crawford County for the full four quarters, racking up an 85-54 victory. The Marksmen pushed the score to 68-43 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wolfpack had little chance of recovering from.

Meanwhile, Paoli had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.6 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They walked away with a 65-54 win over the Warriors.

Tell City is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 5-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.2 points per game. As for Paoli, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Tell City lost to Paoli on the road by a decisive 57-42 margin when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Tell City avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
