Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Philip Barbour

Philip Barbour put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Ritchie County Rebels.

Tyler Sisson was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Sisson was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Philip Barbour got a massive performance out of Nick Gonzales, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. Those three hits gave Gonzales a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kale Wolfe, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-5.

Philip Barbour always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ritchie County only posted an OBP of .357.

Philip Barbour's record is now 3-0. As for Ritchie County, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Philip Barbour will host Lewis County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Philip Barbour is facing Lewis County at the right time seeing as Lewis County is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Ritchie County, they are taking a road trip to take on St. Marys at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
