Football Recap: Niceville Skates Past Gulf Breeze with Ease + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Choctawhatchee, Niceville was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Gulf Breeze Dolphins 56-6. Considering the Eagles have won three contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Leading Niceville to victory were Jakobe Gilyard and Deagan McCoy. Gilyard gained 104 total yards and three touchdowns, while McCoy threw for 179 yards and three touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes. McCoy has become a key player for the Eagles: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three passing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Robert Oliver, who picked up 105 receiving yards and one score.

Niceville didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Gulf Breeze to a completion percentage of just 33.3%. The team can thank Justus Donahoo for the heroic effort on defense: he. Niceville has been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.6 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.6 in their last three games.

Niceville's defense didn't let Beckett Smith, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for five sacks. Justiss Parker-Jones was especially locked on to Gulf Breeze's QB and sacked him twice. Harper Campbell was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making ten total tackles (3.0 for loss).

The win got Niceville back to even at 3-3. As for Gulf Breeze, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Coming up, Niceville will take on Godby at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. As for Gulf Breeze, they will square off against West Florida at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
