Softball Recap: Rancho Cucamonga Takes a Loss

If Rancho Cucamonga was feeling good fresh off their 14-4 takedown of Oak Hills two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Rancho Cucamonga lost 15-3 to the Yucaipa Thunderbirds on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Thunderbirds: they've now lost three in a row.

Rancho Cucamonga saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jemma Wright, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-2. Those three stolen bases gave Wright a new career-high. Amanda Wise also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Rancho Cucamonga's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Yucaipa, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-7.

Coincidentally, Rancho Cucamonga and Yucaipa will both be playing Citrus Valley the next time they take the field. Rancho Cucamonga will host Citrus Valley at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday, while Yucaipa will host them at 4:00 p.m. on the 8th.
