Football Recap: Proviso East Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Proviso East came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 34-14 to the Hinsdale South Hornets. The defeat continues a trend for the Pirates in their meetings with the Hornets: they've now lost five in a row.

Jalen Burge threw for 46 yards. A'Meir Gaston was his top target, picking up 46 receiving yards.

Leading Hinsdale South to victory were Isaiah Burton and Ben Miller. Burton rushed for 112 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries, while Miller threw for 39 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 80% of his passes. Those 112 rushing yards gave Burton a new career-high.

Proviso East now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Hinsdale South, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Proviso East wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 14-0 loss against Berwyn/Cicero Morton on the 20th. As for Hinsdale South, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 21-7 defeat against Addison Trail on the 19th.
