Football Recap: C. J. Thompson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Rancho Verde over Vista Del Lago + How To Watch

If Rancho Verde was feeling good fresh off their 49-21 takedown of JW North last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The contest between the Mustangs and the Vista del Lago Ravens didn't end well, with the Mustangs falling 35-20. While the Mustangs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Ravens 7-0 in the first quarter.

Rancho Verde lost on Friday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was C. J. Thompson, who threw for 198 yards and three TDs. Jimmy Cruz handled things on the ground, rushing for 85 yards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Vista del Lago to victory, but perhaps none more so than Josiah Dupree-Boyd, who threw for 238 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes, and also rushed for 63 yards and one score. Noah Fuller was another key pass catcher, picking up 120 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Rancho Verde's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Vista del Lago, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
