Volleyball Recap: Ironton Comes Up Short

Ironton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the South Point Pointers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Fighting Tigers of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

While Ironton was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-12, 25-22.

Ironton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for South Point, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Looking ahead, Ironton will take on Federal Hocking at 11:00 a.m. on September 6. As for South Point, they will challenge Chesapeake at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Pointers surely won't give up without a fight.
