Baseball Recap: Teton Timberwolves vs. Wood River Wolverines

Teton scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They blew past the Wood River Wolverines 14-6. The win was just what Teton needed coming off of a 12-1 defeat in their prior contest.

Jack Nelson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Mason Alles was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaiden Hastings, who scored three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

On Wood River's side, they got a good showing from Simon Morgan, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (he also didn't allow any walks).

At the plate, Dawson Speth was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Teton's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Wood River, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Teton is on the road again on Tuesday to play Sugar-Salem at 4:00 p.m. Sugar-Salem is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season. As for Wood River, they will head out on the road to face off against Canyon Ridge at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Canyon Ridge is coming into the match with three straight losses at home, meaning Wood River will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win.
