Football Recap: CONNER FREE's Menacing Defense Leads Duncan over Baboquivari

Duncan had won two straight home games and PABLO RUIZ did his part to make it three on Friday. The Wildkats simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Baboquivari Warriors 50-20 thanks in part to RUIZ, who threw for 127 yards and four TDs on only 12 passes, and also rushed for 68 yards. Duncan is undefeated when RUIZ posts three or more passing touchdowns, but 0-3 otherwise.

Another player making a difference was MARK BEJARANO, who gained 89 total yards and two touchdowns. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up 0.5 sacks and making five total tackles.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Duncan's defense and their nine sacks. CONNER FREE led the group effort, picking up three of those sacks all by himself. Thanks to that big game, he is now up to 6.5 sacks on the season. Another thorn in Baboquivari's side was KARSEN LACEY, who made ten total tackles and defended two passes.

The victory got Duncan back to even at 3-3. As for Baboquivari, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Duncan will face off against Ray at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildkats will need to watch out since the Bearcats have now posted at least 31 points in their last four contests. As for Baboquivari, they will challenge Desert Heights Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will be up against the Yote's rather soft defense (which has allowed 40.83 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
