Mt. Shasta had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-2 to make it seven. They had to suffer through a 72-14 loss at the hands of the Maxwell Panthers. The Bears were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-14.

As for Maxwell, the victory got them back to even at 2-2. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Levi Velasquez continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 163 yards and five touchdowns on only ten carries, while also throwing for 132 yards and one TD on only ten passes. Maxwell's leading receiver Tanner Vierra was Velasquez's top target yet again, picking up 90 receiving yards, while also rushing for 39 yards and a pair of scores.

Mt. Shasta wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 55-0 defeat against Redding Christian on the 26th. As for Maxwell, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 49-34 win against Biggs on the 26th.
