Basketball Game Preview: Old Bridge Knights vs. St. Thomas Aquinas Trojans

Old Bridge and St. Thomas Aquinas are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Old Bridge Knights will challenge the St. Thomas Aquinas Trojans at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Saturday, Old Bridge was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 52-46 to Metuchen. The contest marked the Knights' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, St. Thomas Aquinas came into Thursday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They took down Monroe Township 64-45 on Thursday. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Falcons are ranked 269th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Old Bridge has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Old Bridge came up short against St. Thomas Aquinas when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 63-50. Can Old Bridge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
