Football Preview: Hidden Valley Mustangs vs. Marshfield Pirates
The Hidden Valley Mustangs will take on the Marshfield Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Hidden Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They came out on top against Mazama by a score of 24-14 on Friday.
Meanwhile, Marshfield strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They really took it to Ashland for the full four quarters, racking up a 54-12 win. Considering the Pirates have won five contests by more than 22 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Hidden Valley better keep an eye on Enoch Niblett. He was instrumental in Marshfield's win, rushing for 142 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries, while also throwing for 114 yards and three TDs. Those four rushing touchdowns gave Niblett a new career-high. Marshfield's leading receiver Lane Olsen was Niblett's top target yet again, picking up 56 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 32 yards.
Marshfield was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 391 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 159 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
