Baseball Preview: Meadville Bulldogs vs. McDowell Trojans

Bradyn Miller and Colin ReiChel did most of the damage at the plate: Miller got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two RBI, while Reichel went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two runs gave Reichel a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aiden Kliest, who earned one RBI and three runs.
Meadville hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Warren struck out seven times.
Meanwhile, McDowell put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Monday. They never let Harbor Creek get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Huskies recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
McDowell also got a great performance from Justice Laird as he didn't allow a single earned run over 6.2 innings pitched. Laird has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Evan Stranko was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple was his first of the season.
McDowell's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Meadville, their victory bumped their record up to 6-8.
