Football Recap: Foothill Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After soaring to 58 points the game before, Foothill was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They took a 25-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Armijo Royals. If the Mustangs were looking for revenge after losing 36-20 to the Royals when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Xavier Balderas threw for 84 yards on five of nine attempts. TJ Harbison was his top target, picking up 32 receiving yards. On the ground, Derrick Spears rushed for 73 yards and two TDs.

Armijo's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Davion Pickettay, who rushed for 69 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Korey Choyce, who threw for 217 yards and one TD.

Foothill's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Armijo, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Foothill will challenge rival Fairfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Armijo is set to square off against their familiar foe Burbank at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant wideouts against one another: Choyce and David Massey II.
