Volleyball Recap: Bay City Has No Trouble Against La Marque

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Brazosport, Bay City was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the La Marque Cougars with a sharp 3-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

Bay City was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-20, 25-16.

Kim Perez was the offensive standout of the match as she had eight digs and five aces. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (four). Riley Morgan also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Bay City's win bumped their record up to 16-14. As for La Marque, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-22.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Bay City is set to face off against their familiar foe Wharton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, La Marque will square off against rival Columbia at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
