Preview: Scituate Sailors vs. Quincy Presidents
Scituate has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on The Quincy Presidents at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Scituate is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Quincy in Massachusetts (Scituate is ranked 36th, while Quincy is ranked 152nd).
Scituate can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They put the hurt on North Quincy with a sharp 42-22 victory.
William Robinson was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 115 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries. Robinson was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 64 yards. Another player making a difference was Alex Burrill, who rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Quincy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Plymouth South, falling 37-8. Quincy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 23-0.
The losing side was boosted by Gabe Rodrigues, who rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown.
Scituate now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Quincy, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-5.
Scituate came up short against Quincy in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 58-45. Can Scituate avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
