Softball Recap: West Mesa Takes a Loss

West Mesa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 21-3 to the Centennial Hawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-4 on Saturday.

Ellie Padilla made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Mya Baca was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

West Mesa's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Centennial, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

West Mesa didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 13-3 loss against Volcano Vista on the 19th. As for Centennial, they have also already played their next game, a 3-2 victory against Carlsbad on the 21st.
