Fort Payne entered their tilt with North Jackson on Saturday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 49-31 victory over the North Jackson Chiefs. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Chiefs are ranked 154th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Fort Payne's win bumped their record up to 14-2. As for North Jackson, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Payne and St. John Paul II will round out the year against one another at at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for North Jackson, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Section at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
