Softball Recap: Reading Triumphs

Reading lost to William Penn back in March of 2025, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Red KNights walked away with a 20-16 win over the Bearcats.

Reading's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Yolanda Velez, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, two triples, and two stolen bases. Another was Cristal Aquino, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

The win got Reading back to even at 1-1. As for William Penn, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Reading will face off against Antietam at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for William Penn, they will head out to take on Cedar Crest at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
