Baseball Recap: Metro Tech's Win Ends Eight-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Metro Tech's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Central Bobcats an 18-0 shutout. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Knights considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Miguel Pacheco was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Metro Tech got a massive performance out of Omar Arguelles, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Kristopher Soberanis was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Metro Tech was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .565. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive matches.

Metro Tech's win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3. As for Central, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.
