Softball Recap: Fairview Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Fairview extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping them up to 6-13. They put the hurt on the Montpelier Locomotives with a sharp 7-1 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Apaches also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2025.

Lilly Warner made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, Samantha Coolman was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Grace Poper, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

As for Montpelier, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Montpelier's side, Cianna Shoup spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, Montpelier saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rowan Brown, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Fairview does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Montpelier, they will head out to take on Antwerp at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
