Basketball Recap: Morrice Comes Up Short

Morrice was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a blow against the Ovid-Elsie Marauders, falling 71-35. The Orioles lost against the Marauders in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 43-33 score last time.

Morrice's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Ovid-Elsie, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.

Morrice will head out to take on Beecher at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Ovid-Elsie, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Byron at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ovid-Elsie has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 207 points over their last three matchups.
