Basketball Game Preview: Western Wildcats vs. Dillard Panthers

After both having extra time off, the Western Wildcats and the Dillard Panthers will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Saturday, Western was beaten by Tampa Catholic 56-29. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 287th, while the Crusaders are ranked 95th).

Dillard played against Miami Christian and lost via forfeit.

Dillard is on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5. As for Western, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Western beat Dillard 46-39 when the teams last played back in November of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Western since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
