Basketball Game Preview: Kosciusko Whippets vs. Grenada Chargers

The Kosciusko Whippets will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the Grenada Chargers at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Grenada took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Kosciusko, who comes in off a win.

Last Saturday, Kosciusko didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Coahoma County, but they still walked away with a 37-32 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Whippets.

Cory Guyton Jr was the offensive standout of the matchup as he went 6-for-14 on his way to 20 points. Another player making a difference was Russ Tillman, who posted nine points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, Grenada came up short against Holly Springs on Thursday and fell 46-37. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Grenada's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Kosciusko, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Kosciusko strolled past Grenada when the teams last played back in November of 2024 by a score of 69-50. Will the Whippets repeat their success, or do the Chargers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
