Basketball Game Preview: Oak Mountain Academy Warriors vs. St. George's

Oak Mountain Academy is 9-1 against St. George since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Oak Mountain Academy Warriors will welcome St. George's at 6:30 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Oak Mountain Academy has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while St. George's will arrive with three straight wins.

Back in December of 2024, Oak Mountain Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 47-43 to Hearts Academy.

Despite their defeat, Oak Mountain Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jeb Harper, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 19 boards, was perhaps the best of all. With that strong performance, Harper is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. Another player making a difference was Mads Koelling, who went 8 of 20 on his way to 17 points in addition to five assists and four steals.

Meanwhile, St. George's strolled past Fullington Academy with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 51-33.

St. George's win came from a few key players Oak Mountain Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Davis Helms, who posted 20 points. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Elliott Potter, who put up 14 points.

St. George's pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Oak Mountain Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Oak Mountain Academy was able to grind out a solid win over St. George's in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 47-39. Will Oak Mountain Academy repeat their success, or does St. George's have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
