Basketball Game Preview: Marana Tigers vs. Kofa Kings + Official Tickets

The Marana Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Kofa Kings at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Marana has three straight victories, Kofa has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

It was a proper cat-fight when Marana faced off against Amphitheater on Thursday. The Tigers strolled past the Panthers with points to spare, taking the game 64-47. That's two games straight that the Tigers have won by exactly 17 points.

Marana got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Zachary Evenson out in front who posted ten points along with six boards and three steals. Madix Young was another key player, putting up ten points and five rebounds.

Marana smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 66-37, which was the final score in Kofa's tilt against Red Mountain on Friday. The matchup marked the Kings' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Marana now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Kofa, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Everything came up roses for Marana against Kofa in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 74-32 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
