Basketball Game Preview: Batavia Bulldogs vs. Rolling Meadows Mustangs

The Batavia Bulldogs will face off against the Rolling Meadows Mustangs at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Batavia is headed into the match having just posted their biggest win since December 23, 2024 on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 48-25 margin over Glenbard North. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Panthers are ranked 468th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Rolling Meadows blew past Wheeling, posting a 54-16 victory. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 21 points or more this season.

Rolling Meadows has also been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which lines up perfectly with their 15-5 record this season. As for Batavia, their win bumped their record up to 14-6.

Batavia came up short against Rolling Meadows in their previous matchup back in December of 2019, falling 53-44. Can Batavia avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
