Baseball Recap: Kingsbury Takes a Loss

If Kingsbury was feeling good fresh off their 21-1 takedown of Memphis Business Academy last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Falcons lost 15-4 to the Overton Wolverines on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolverines this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-8 back in March.

Landon Harris was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2. He is becoming a predictor of Kingsbury's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-2 (and 2-5 when he doesn't).

Kingsbury now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Overton, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4-1 record this season.

Kingsbury will challenge Memphis Central at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Falcons will need to watch out since the Warriors have now posted at least ten runs in their last four matches. As for Overton, they will face off against Kirby at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
