Football Game Preview: Basile Bearcats vs. Highland Baptist Christian Bears

The Basile Bearcats will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Highland Baptist Christian Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses dating back to last season for Basile and three for Highland Baptist Christian.

Basile's last matchup with Sacred Heart could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Friday. The Bearcats lost 38-15 to the Trojans.

Meanwhile, Highland Baptist Christian was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 25-19 to Berchmans Academy.

Basile's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Highland Baptist Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 0-3.

Everything came up roses for Basile against Highland Baptist Christian in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, as the team secured a 41-3 win. Do the Bearcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
