Basketball Game Preview: Central Lions vs. Griffin Bears

The Central Lions will square off against the Griffin Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Central has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 3-0 during that stretch of close contests.

Last Friday, Central escaped with a win against Northside by the margin of a single free throw, 40-39.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 69-34, which was the final score in Griffin's tilt against Harris County on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 218th, while the Tigers are ranked 71st).

Central has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. As for Griffin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-13.

Central won a game that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup last Saturday, slipping by Griffin 24-23. The rematch might be a little tougher for Central since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
