Football Recap: Red Boiling Springs Comes Up Short

Red Boiling Springs extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 17 on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-9. They were outmatched by the Gordonsville Tigers and fell 42-0. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 346th, while the Tigers are ranked 61st).

As for Gordonsville, they pushed their record up to 9-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The contest marked their most dominant victory of the season.

Gordonsville found their leader in sophomore Turner Bucher, who rushed for 59 yards and one score. Brooks Stafford also helped with two TDs in total.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Red Boiling Springs will face off against Innovation Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will be up against the Sentinels' rather soft defense (which has allowed 40.75 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Gordonsville, they will challenge Smith County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Owls will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
