Baseball Recap: Highland Park Comes Up Short

If Highland Park was riding high fresh off their 12-6 takedown of Perth Amboy Vo-Tech on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Owls fell just short of the Somerset Tech Jaguars by a score of 6-5 on Thursday. The Owls haven't had much luck with the Jaguars recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Highland Park's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Somerset Tech, they moved to 8-7 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Coming up, Highland Park will head out on the road to face off against Perth Amboy Vo-Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.57 runs per game on average), something the Owls will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Somerset Tech, they will square off against South Hunterdon at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
