Basketball Recap: Falconer Takes a Loss

Falconer fought the good fight in their overtime match against Panama on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Panama Panthers 72-68. The loss continues a trend for the Golden Falcons in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost six in a row.

Carter Brink continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Panama, putting up 22 points and eight boards. Brink's evening made it 15 games in a row in which he has scored at least 19 points. Another player making a difference was Bryce Hinsdale, who posted 14 points.

Falconer's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Panama, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 16-2.

Coming up, Falconer will face off against Maple Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Panama, they will square off against Frewsburg at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Panama knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Frewsburg likes a good challenge.
