Basketball Recap: Sullivan Sandy and Ava Hulett Secure Win for Mineral Ridge

Mineral Ridge won the last time they faced Western Reserve and things went their way on Monday too. The Mineral Ridge Rams came out on top against the Western Reserve Blue Devils by a score of 51-39.

Mineral Ridge was led to victory by Ava Hulett and Sullivan Sandy. Hulett dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards, while Sandy went 6 of 15 on her way to 16 points and four steals. The contest was Hulett's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylee Molnar, who posted five points.

Mineral Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Western Reserve, they moved to 7-2 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Mineral Ridge and Columbiana will round out the year against one another at at 7:00 p.m. on December 30th. Columbiana will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Mineral Ridge surely won't give up without a fight. As for Western Reserve, they will challenge Lowellville at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
