Soccer Game Preview: Lamar vs. Azle

The Lamar Vikings will take on the Azle Hornets in a tournament on Friday. Lamar will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more goals each matchup than the last.

Lamar is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand Carter-Riverside an 8-0 shutout on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Meanwhile, Azle entered their tilt with Bridgeport on Thursday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against the Bulls. Given Azle's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 211th, while Bridgeport are ranked 488th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Azle's victory bumped their record up to 6-3-1. As for Lamar, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
