Basketball Recap: Blue Valley North Comes Up Short

Blue Valley North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 50-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Valley Northwest Huskies. The game marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Among those leading the charge was Keaton Humphrey, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last eight games he's played. Ayden Mcgibboney was another key player, going 5-for-12 en route to 15 points.

Blue Valley North's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Blue Valley Northwest, they pushed their record up to 13-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Blue Valley North and Blue Valley Northwest should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings. Blue Valley North (ranked 26th) will meet Barstow (ranked 306th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Blue Valley Northwest will face off against St. James Academy at 7:00 p.m. on February 28th up 57 places (9 vs. 66).
