Baseball Recap: Apache Junction Extends Winning Streak to Three

Apache Junction waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Palo Verde Titans with a sharp 16-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Prospectors, who have now won three matches by 15 runs or more so far this season.

Aidan Mead was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Aiden Deleon and Dylan Blackwood did most of the damage at the plate: Deleon scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3, while Blackwood scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Apache Junction is undefeated when Deleon posts two or more runs, but 0-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Connor Trisoliere, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Apache Junction kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Apache Junction's record now sits at 3-4. As for Palo Verde, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Apache Junction will welcome Poston Butte at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Palo Verde, they will venture away from home to take on Desert Christian at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Palo Verde has given up an average of 8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
