Basketball Recap: Foxfire Starts Season with Victory Against Oakstone Academy

Foxfire gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They put the hurt on Oakstone Academy with a sharp 58-33 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Phoenix also won the last time the pair played back in January.

Nazir Smith went supernova for Foxfire, putting up 33 points. Another player making a difference was Todd Pollock, who posted 13 points.

Foxfire will head out to square off against Marburn Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Foxfire will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak dating back to last season. Oakstone Academy has already played their next contest, a 55-40 win against Varsity Opponent on the 9th.
