Basketball Recap: DeKalb County Tigers vs. Stone Memorial Panthers
DeKalb County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Stone Memorial Panthers, falling 79-45. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-18.
Cade Capps was his usual excellent self, going 12 for 20 en route to 30 points and six boards for Stone Memorial. Capps' evening made it 24 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Briggs Lowe, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.
DeKalb County's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Stone Memorial, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.
DeKalb County will head out to face off against Warren County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Warren County will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something DeKalb County surely won't give up without a fight. As for Stone Memorial, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 76-62 defeat against Pickett County on the 25th.
