The Cannon Cougars will face off against the North Raleigh Christian Academy Knights at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Cannon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.

Last Thursday, Cannon and A.L. Brown finished up on equal footing with a 7-7 draw.

Meanwhile, North Raleigh Christian Academy came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Cavaliers as they made off with a 16-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won three contests by 15 runs or more so far this season.

Cora Harmsen was incredible, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Sarah Vance also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

North Raleigh Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .345 or higher in five consecutive games.

The victory got North Raleigh Christian Academy back to even at 4-4. Cannon's tie gives them a new season record of 4-4-1.

North Raleigh Christian Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Cannon has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. It's a different story for North Raleigh Christian Academy, though, as they've been averaging 9.6 hits. Given Cannon's sizable advantage in that area, North Raleigh Christian Academy will need to find a way to close that gap.

Cannon came up short against North Raleigh Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 4-1. Can Cannon avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
