The Jupiter Christian Eagles suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They were outmatched by Westwood on the road and fell 72-44. Jupiter Christian has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Jupiter Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ryan Deaver. Despite the final result, he scored 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Deaver has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Chase Reinstein, who scored nine points.
Westwood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jordan Crutchfield, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. Crutchfield continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Marquan Burgess was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Jupiter Christian has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Westwood, their victory bumped their record up to 5-10.
Jupiter Christian will look to defend their home court on Monday against Boca Raton Christian at 11:00 a.m. Hopefully Boca Raton Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Friday. Westwood on the road again on Monday and play against Pine at 3:00 p.m. on January 15th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Pine is ranked 408th, while Westwood is ranked 411th).
